slightly biased quilts

Hi everyone! It’s the last month of the BOM, and we’re going to assemble our quilt top! You’ll need your blocks, plus your sky fabric, barn fabric, and grass fabric.

First cut out all of your pieces, and then assemble the required long strips. You’ll want to cut them down to the exact size instead of leaving long strips and trimming afterwards, which can end up wavy. Then make your required HSTs. For the large one, it’s a bit hard to trim it down, so just do your best. It’s so big that it will end up looking fine!

Now you’re going to start assembling. First apply the sashing to the small blocks, followed by the side strips on the right and left.

Next, apply the top and bottom barn strips, followed by the left and right sky strips.

Then apply the grass strip to the bottom of the main barn.

Next, apply the small barn strip to the top of the large block, and then finish up the row with the large HSTs.

Next, assemble the small HSTs with the barn square, add the top sky piece, and then finish up the row. Then sew your three large pieces together!

And you’re all done! Congratulations!! I hope you had as much fun making this block of the month as I did. Now you’re ready for the quilting and binding!
