Welcome to the Winter Haven Project Hop!
I’m so excited to be part of the Winter Haven Project Hop, celebrating Winter Haven, the newest fabric collection from Rachel Rossi of Designs by Rachel Rossi for Benartex.
Winter Haven is inspired by quiet winter landscapes, woodland wildlife, and that cozy feeling of making something by hand when it’s cold outside. The collection is full of deer, owls, evergreens, berries, mushrooms, and soft seasonal florals. It works beautifully for holiday sewing, but honestly, it’s the kind of collection you’ll want to keep using all winter long.
Throughout the hop, a whole lineup of talented makers is sharing quilts, bags, home decor, and other projects made with Winter Haven. Every stop has a new idea and a fresh way to use the collection.
My Project: Starlit Night in Winter Haven
For my stop on the hop, I recolored my Starlit Night pattern in Winter Haven, and I could not be happier with how it turned out.
Starlit Night is a beginner-friendly pattern that finishes at 63″ x 72″, and it has always felt like a fall and winter quilt to me. It’s a fun take on my Arboreal pattern, so there’s a woodsy, treesy feel built right into the design. Pairing it with a collection full of evergreens and woodland animals felt like a no-brainer.
One of my favorite things about Starlit Night is how much the fabric changes the whole mood of the quilt. In Winter Haven, it reads like a snowy night in the woods. It’s also scrap friendly, so if you end up with leftover Winter Haven cuts from another hop project, this is a great way to use them up.
You can find the Starlit Night pattern in my shop here.
